Glycogen Storage Disease

Glycogen Storage Disease (The type IV  classification as found in cats) is a rare inherited condition resulting from an enzyme activity defect that effects the metabolism of glucose. This leads  to a build up of glycogen in various body tissues.

Symptoms can include: seizures, muscular weakness, Liver and Kidney damage.

This disease usually presents in kittenhood and unfortunately for those affected it is usually fatal.
